Mazda Reveals Pricing and Specifications for First-Ever, All-Hybrid CX-80

Mazda’s newest and most accessible seven-seat family SUV – the First-Ever, All-Hybrid Mazda CX-80 – is ready to join the brand’s range, developed and specified to offer Australian families genuine SUV practicality, sophisticated technology and exceptional value for money.

The exterior design concept of the Mazda CX-80 is ‘Graceful Toughness’, which blends SUV utility with the intelligence and elegance that underpins Mazda’s ‘Kodo – Soul of Motion’ design language.

The spacious and luxurious seven-seat cabin is a showcase of craftsmanship, comfort and flexibility.

Customers will have three highly efficient engine choices when the CX-80 goes on sale this month. The CX-80 PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) headlines the powertrain range. It delivers up to 241 kW of power and a maximum torque of 500 Nm by combining its 2.5-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine with a 129 kW electric motor, which is powered by a 17.8 kWh Lithium ion battery. An electric-only range of up to 65km is available, and charging from 20 to 80 per cent at the maximum 7.2 kW AC rate takes as little as 90 minutes.

Mazda’s eight-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission and rear-biased i-Activ all-wheel drive (AWD) are fitted across the CX-80 range, while a double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension setup reward occupants with a dynamic yet comfortable experience.

The three-row CX-80 is offered in four equipment-rich model grades: Pure, Touring, GT and Azami. All offer a highly compelling value proposition.

An optional SP Package is also available to add to the Azami model grade, which comprises:

  • Tan nappa leather seat trim
  • 20-inch Black metallic alloy wheels
  • Dark-coloured side signature
  • Gloss Black honeycomb grille
  • Gloss Black exterior mirrors
  • LED headlamps with dark signature
  • Suede finish dashboard panel
  • Two-tone colour steering wheel
  • Second row captain’s seats with ventilation
  • Second row centre console with storage

Safety technologies include Smart Brake Support for turning across traffic, for pedestrian and cycle detection, for when reversing, and for Rear Crossing. Front Cross Traffic Alert helps drivers when moving into intersections, and Driver Monitoring detects driver drowsiness and inattention.

The comprehensive suite of Mazda Connected Services are also fitted across the CX-80 range and integrate seamlessly with the MyMazda app. Customers can quickly and easily call upon features including Vehicle Status and Health, Stolen Vehicle Assistance, Remote Lock, Flash Lights functionality, Vehicle Locator services, Curfew Notification, Geofencing capability and Emergency SOS services integration.

The efficiency of Mazda’s hybrid technology in everyday driving is a big plus, and ample space for up to seven people – with abundant cargo capacity – makes the CX-80 ideal for family adventures.”
